Every fruit tree is different, but it’s hard to go wrong when you choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Topping up your beds with compost will help with fertilising the roots and providing nutrients.

Using a spade or garden fork, dig a hole that is twice as wide as the fruit tree’s root ball before placing your tree in and covering over with soil, pressing gently to set it in place.
