- Rich, melt-in-the-mouth flavour
- Harvest in October, stores well
- Needs pollinator for best crops
Grow one of the most flavoursome dessert pear varieties available in your own garden! Pear 'Doyenne du Commice' has a richness that other cultivars struggle to attain, with large, sweet fruits that have a melt-in-the-mouth texture. Harvest your homegrown pears in October and they will store well into November. Pollination Group 4 – this variety is not self-fertile, so for the heaviest crops it is best grown with another variety. If you only have room for one tree then make sure that a neighbour has a tree close by that can act as a suitable pollinator. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years. Quince C rootstock – dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2. 5-3m (8-10'). Plant height and spread are seasonal; therefore, we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only. Please note: This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom. Product specifications: Position: Full Sun Height: Up to 250cm when fully established.
