Room Dividers

Shop sliding room dividers

A sliding room divider is one of the most space-efficient ways to partition a room, since it doesn't need floor space to swing open like a door. They work well for open-plan living areas where you might want the option to close a space off in the evening but open it back up during the day, and for smaller rooms where a hinged screen would take up usable floor space.

Browse room partitions for open-plan living

Open-plan homes are amazing for a light, airy flow, but not always for privacy. A room partition lets you divide a large space into two functional zones. Maybe a living area and a home office, or a kitchen and dining space - without any building work. Freestanding partitions are the easiest option if you want the flexibility to move or fold them away entirely when you don't need them.

Shop floor to ceiling dividers

For a more permanent-feeling divide, floor-to-ceiling dividers create a much stronger separation between two areas than a shorter screen does. These work well in taller rooms or where you want the divide to properly block views between spaces.

Indoor privacy screens for home working

So many of us work from home these days, and an indoor privacy screen is an easy way to create your own little workspace without a spare room. Position one behind a desk in a living room or bedroom corner, and you might just notice a decrease in awkward call interruptions.

Room Dividers FAQs

Do room dividers need to be fixed to the wall or floor?

No, most room dividers are freestanding, using a folding frame or weighted base to stay upright without any fixing. This also makes them easy to move or fold away when you don't need them.

How quickly will my room divider be delivered?

Delivery times vary by size, but most room dividers qualify for our standard UK delivery service, with quicker options available at checkout if you need it sooner.

What sizes and styles of room dividers are available?

Room dividers come in a range of heights and panel counts, from compact three-panel folding screens to larger four-panel and floor-to-ceiling designs, so you can find the right fit for a bedroom, home office or studio apartment.

What materials are room dividers usually made from?

Most room dividers use a wooden or metal frame with a fabric, rattan or woven panel infill. Wooden frames tend to feel more traditional, while metal frames are lighter and often more affordable.

Do room dividers come in different colours and finishes?

Yes, from natural wood and neutral tones to bolder painted or patterned fabric panels, so you can match a room divider to your existing décor rather than it standing out as an afterthought.
