Bean Bags

Shop bean bags for kids and adults

Sizing matters with bean bags, so you’ll want to choose yours based on who'll be using them. Kids' bean bags tend to be smaller and lighter, making them easy for children to move around a playroom or bedroom. Bean bag chairs, with a more defined back and sometimes armrests, give older kids and teens a bit more support for gaming or homework. Adult bean bags are larger and built to take more weight, making them a comfortable extra seat in a living room or den.

Bean bag materials and styles

The fabric you choose will affect how your bean bag feels and how easy it is to keep clean. Fabric and cord finishes feel soft and cosy and suit bedrooms or quieter corners of the house. Faux leather and wipe-clean fabrics are ideal for busy households or kids' rooms, since spills and marks can be easily wiped away. If you want a bean bag that can head outdoors to the garden too, look out for water-resistant fabrics that can handle a bit of weather without being ruined!

A plain, neutral bean bag blends into most rooms and works well as an extra seat. For kids' rooms, bright colours and playful prints are always a hit. If you're furnishing a shared space, pick out a design that can hold its own next to your existing furniture rather than clashing with it.

Bean bags FAQs

What age is a bean bag suitable for?

Most kids' bean bags are suitable from around 18 months to early teens, though always check the specific weight limit and age guidance on the product before buying, since this varies by design.

Can bean bags be used outdoors?

Some bean bags are made with water-resistant fabric that can handle light showers or sunshine, but they're not built to be left outside permanently. Bring them in during heavy rain or when not in use to avoid damage.
