Student Essentials FAQs

How to create a uni essentials starter pack?

Start with the basics for each room. Bedding and towels for your bedroom and bathroom, and kitchen must-haves like pots, pans and a kettle. Add some storage to keep everything tidy in a small space, and finish with study supplies like stationery and a desk lamp. Our ultimate uni checklist covers all of this and more.

What's not provided in student halls?

Most halls supply the big furniture - a bed, desk, chair and wardrobe - but often not much else. You'll usually need to bring your own bedding, towels, kitchenware and cleaning supplies. It's always worth checking with your accommodation provider first, as kitchen equipment like a kettle or microwave is sometimes included.

How do I make the most of storage in a small student room?

Vacuum packs and underbed storage are great for stowing away off-season clothes and bedding, while stackable storage boxes make use of vertical space in a wardrobe or on shelving. For shared bathrooms, a bathroom storage caddy keeps your toiletries together and easy to carry.
