A garden favourite for many years, the bleeding heart has soft green foliage and will produce 1-inch-long, white, heart-shaped flowers for several weeks in spring. Foliage usually goes dormant in summer, so pick interesting combinations to prevent voids in your lawn. Beautiful in a border or woodland garden. Flowering height: 24inch/60cm. Planting guide: Where to plant - February to May. How far apart - Plant - 20"/50cm. Soiling requirements - Well-drained soil with a good supply of organic matter. Leaf mould, manure or compost can be used to enrich the soil with organic matter. How to plant: Position the plant in partial shade. Flowering height - 24"/60cm. Planting depth - 6"/15cm. Flowering time - May to August. Care guide - A mulch in the autumn with organic matter is advisable. The plants like to be left undisturbed and will naturalise well.
