Product Information

  • Large flowering border plant
  • Easy to grow
  • Daisy-like bright blooms
Johnsons’ Rudbeckia Gloriosa Daisies Seeds produce brilliant, daisy-like blooms in bright yellow colours with a red core. They are excellent for cut flowers and perfect for mixed borders. This hardy plant grows well in poor soil and repels pests. Indoor Sowing: February to April, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, and cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover the tray with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear in 14-21 days. Remove the cover when seedlings appear. When large enough, transplant 5cm apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days in late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed-free. Flowers July to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Outdoor sowing: April to May, in a prepared seed bed in flowering position. Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. When large enough to handle, thin to 30cm apart. Flowers August to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. TIP: Cut flowers are best picked when buds begin to show colour.
