The Johnsons Grass Carex Comans Bronze Seeds grow into a useful and versatile specimen grass. Its dense tussocks of bronze-brown, hair-like leaves make it great for growing in containers and dot planting in mixed borders. This hardy perennial grows easily in well-drained fertile soil. Indoor Sowing: February to May, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, do not cover the seed with compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover the tray with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20-25°C. Seedlings appear in 21-42 days. Remove the cover when seedlings appear. When large enough, transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards. Foliage: All year round. TIP: Do not allow it to dry out. Provide protection from excessive cold and winter wet.
