Dianthus Hollandia Purple Crown are a beautiful annual flowering plant with delightfully scented blooms in the first year from sowing. Highly recommended for cut flowers and classic border displays. Indoor Sowing: February-May, in trays of moist compost. Sow thinly, and cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at 15-20°C. Keep moist. Remove the cover when seedlings appear. When large enough, transplant 5cm apart in trays. Grow on at 15°C. Stand outside for a few days in late May (avoid frosts). Then transplant 20cm apart in flowering position in June. Keep moist and weed-free at all times. Flowers July-October, the same year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
