Plant labels are a gardening essential, helping you stay organised when it comes to planting! At wilko, we have a range of seed labels to suit every gardener, from durable plastic to eco-friendly bamboo. Plastic & metal plant labels offer longevity and can be used year after year, whilst wooden and bamboo seed labels can be added to the compost bin once they’re done!

Are there reusable plant labels?

Plastic or wooden plant labels are cost effective and can be used year after year. You’ll also get multiple uses from plant labels made from natural materials, but they won’t last quite as long.

Can wooden plant labels withstand rain and moisture?

Our natural plant labels are hardwearing and should last you a couple of seasons if stored properly, but you may find them even more useful as markers in your soil to tell you where seeds & bulbs are planted.

How do I prevent plant labels from fading or becoming illegible?

Your plant labels should be fine if they’re used indoors or in a greenhouse, but when they’re exposed to the great outdoors, they become at risk of fading. Exposure to direct sunlight will speed up the process, so keep an eye on them and go over the writing again with a permanent marker or specialist wipeable pen. There is one upside to fading plant labels, though: you can write over them again next year!
