This fabulous Photinia is a great garden plant that is easy to grow and makes a great addition to any garden. 'Little Red Robin' is quite a new cultivar with smaller leaves, giving an even bolder and brighter red glow as the new leaves emerge throughout the summer. What's more, this stylish lollipop standard form, it's even more of a year-round focal point and features too. Skilfully crafted over four years, this unusual format adds height to any garden and yet is easy to maintain with a simple trim to shape each autumn. Grow in full sun for the best red foliage colour. It will glow on those long summer nights. Whilst it will fade to darker green somewhat over winter, it retains a mix of red tones all year. Great for year-round evergreen use (it should be ever-red!), they work well in pairs in large pots on either side of doorways, gates and porches or as a single focal point in a formal bed. It's supplied 70-80cm tall inc pot in a 3L pot, ready to plant out. Photinia 'Red Robin' grows best in fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. A sheltered position is best, as the new growth can be scorched by drying wind or late frosts. Regular watering can cut down the risk of scorching. Really easy to care for. Any pruning is minimal and is usually just formative. Carried out before mid-summer, it allows new growth to harden off before winter.
