Product Information

  • Produces sweet and early ripening black grapes
  • Hardy disease-resistant reliable crop
  • Ideal for sunny wall or pergola
You can grow your delicious grapes in the UK, which are so sweet that can be eaten fresh or used in desserts. Grape 'Boskoop Glory' is an old, extremely reliable variety of black grape, which is very hardy and a reliable cropper. Vines are easy to grow, early ripening and disease resistant, which means bumper crops of tasty grapes. Grow grape vines over pergolas, where they are very attractive, with big fancy green foliage that turns to striking autumn colours; coral, scarlet and purple. Choose a sunny position in any well-drained soil and a south-facing position against a wall is ideal. Sturdy support is required for the twining stems. Before planting, prepare a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m posts or attached to a warm wall and incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant against the wire supports, allowing a distance of 2m between plants. After planting, reduce the newly planted grapevine back to the height of the lowest support wire, and cut back any side shoots to one bud, before tying the main stem into the supporting wires. Water only during dry periods as excessive watering can reduce the quality of the fruit. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the vines in spring to retain moisture at their roots throughout summer. Prune in winter and train in summer. Do not allow them to carry a crop of grapes until their third summer. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 1.8m. Spread: Up to 1.5m. Supplied in a 2.5 Litre Nursery Pot. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes and may not be the exact variety.
