Product Information

  • Late summer crop
  • Ideal for basket container and patio
  • Produces plenty of juicy berries
Grow your own strawberries in the garden whatever the weather! This late-summer strawberry was bred in Scotland and can tolerate the damper conditions of our climate. ‘Symphony’ organic plants are perfectly happy when grown in baskets or containers, so you can grow generous crops on a patio or balcony. This hardy and disease-tolerant late summer cropper gives plenty of juicy berries after the main season finishes – fruits are medium-large and bright red with an old-fashioned strawberry flavour that you’ll love. The plants appear to be vines and have good mildew resistance when grown outside. Plant strawberry plants in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well-manured, free-draining soil. Plant strawberry runners every 45cm in rows spaced 75cm apart. Spread out their roots and place them in the soil at a level where the crown of the plant is just poking above the surface. Avoid planting them too deeply as this may cause them to rot. Alternatively, try growing strawberry plants in hanging baskets or in specially designed strawberry planters for the patio. Plant height and spread are seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only. Please note: This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom. Product specifications: Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 20cm. Spread: Up to 30cm. Supplied as 6 x Strawberry ‘Symphony’ Organic 9cm potted plants. Harvest period: July to August. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
