Product Information

  • Juicy green pears, eat fresh or cooked
  • Harvest in autumn, store to ripen
  • Hardy tree, ideal for wildlife gardens
Pear 'Conference' - This well-known, popular variety is a delicious dessert pear which is also brilliant when cooked. Pear 'Conference' produces large, bell-shaped fruits with green skin and a juicy flavour. They can be eaten hard or fully ripe, though we recommend picking them when they are slightly under-ripe, ready to harvest from October to November, and store indoors in a cool place so they can ripen slowly. This variety is partially self-fertile. For the heaviest crops it is best grown with another variety. If you only have room for one tree then make sure that a neighbour has a tree close by that can act as a suitable pollinator. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years. Ideal For:  Kitchen Garden, Wildlife Gardens Hardiness: Hardy Position In: Full sun Height: Up to 300cmSpread: Up to 300cmImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
