Product Information

  • Sweet, seedless grapes, harvest in October
  • Sun-loving, ideal for south-facing walls
  • Resistant to mildew, low maintenance care
Introducing Grape 'Lakemont,' the perfect addition to your garden for a bountiful harvest and exceptional flavour. This sun-loving grape variety, specifically designed for a sunny, south-facing wall, offers oval, seedless fruits in large clusters, ready for harvest in September. Enjoy the delightful sweetness and muscat flavour straight from the vine, as 'Lakemont' is an excellent dessert grape. With good resistance to both Powdery and Downy Mildew, this variety ensures a reliable and low-maintenance cultivation, perfect for both novice and experienced gardeners. The lobed foliage of 'Lakemont' adds to its allure, transforming into a beautiful display of autumn colours, making it not just a productive plant but a visually pleasing one for your garden. Supplied as 1x 3 Litre Potted Plant. How to Grow: Light: Choose a sunny, south-facing position against a wall for optimal growth. Temperature: Grape vines thrive in well-drained soil; a south-facing position provides an ideal microclimate. Watering: Water sparingly, especially during dry periods, as excessive watering can impact fruit quality. Feeding: Prior to planting, incorporate well-rotted manure or compost. Apply a spring mulch for moisture retention. Humidity: Grapes are resilient but benefit from regular pruning in winter and training in summer to ensure a healthy crop. Growing Instructions (Year 1 to Year 3):Year 1: Summer Pruning: Pinch back side branches to 5 leaves; reduce shoots to 1 leaf. Winter Pruning: Reduce main stem by two-thirds; cut side branches to 1 bud. Year 2: Summer Pruning: Repeat Year 1 process. Winter Pruning: Repeat Year 1 winter pruning. Year 3: Summer Pruning: Allow 2 bunches per side branch; prune away lateral growth beyond 2 buds past the second bunch. Harvest: Ripe fruit can be harvested from early October.
