Product Information

  • Fragrant spring blossoms
  • Homegrown vitamin C-rich fruit
  • Ideal for conservatories or patios
The glossy evergreen leaves create a beautiful backdrop for the clusters of fragrant, waxy blossoms that appear in spring. This orange tree is an excellent choice for a conservatory or a sunny windowsill and can be moved outdoors to a warm patio during the summer months. The citrus fruits typically take about a year to develop, offering the delightful taste of homegrown oranges, which are high in vitamin C. They are perfect for making juices, jams, and chutneys, making them a versatile ingredient for cooking and baking. The whole fruit can also be frozen and used as ice cubes. Additionally, the attractive fruits provide a lovely ornamental display. To plant, use a container or pot filled with a mix of ericaceous compost and neutral, soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. Repot the plant at its original soil level and firm it well into the new container. Water thoroughly and place it in a well-lit spot, away from cold drafts and radiators, ideally maintaining a temperature between 4-12°C. If the location is frost-free, the plant can be placed outdoors from May to October. During the summer, water generously and mist the leaves daily to boost humidity and deter pests. Feed the plant with a citrus fertilizer every two weeks. Be sure to bring it back indoors before frost occurs. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the plant to dry out completely, as either too much or too little water may cause the fruits to fall off. The orange tree is supplied in a 9cm nursery pot and will be delivered with care along with growing instructions. Please note that the images shown are for guidance only and reflect the expected results of mature plants. Actual results may vary due to different growing conditions, and the images may not depict the exact variety, as seasonal changes can affect appearance.
