The fast-growing Johnsons Grass Festuca Glauca Seeds will soon transform into neat cushions of fine blue-green leaves topped by upright flowering heads. A hardy perennial with blue-green leaves, it turns a beautifully contrasting straw-gold as they mature. This eye-catching ornamental grass is perfect for edging borders and as a contrasting dot plant. Indoor Sowing: February to May, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, do not cover the seed with compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover the tray with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20-25°C. Seedlings appear in 21-42 days. Remove the cover when seedlings appear. When large enough, transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 25cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards. Flowers: May to August, generally the following year. TIP: Divide plants every few years to rejuvenate their leaf colour.
