How to Plant Tomato Seeds

You can start your tomato seeds indoors from February - April to give your plants a helping hand. Using seed trays and a good quality compost, plant one seed per plug, water well, and keep in a warm, bright place. When your seedlings are 2-3cm tall, you can transplant into slightly bigger pots until it’s time to plant them outside!

Once the last frost date has passed, you can plant your tomatoes outside in a sunny spot or greenhouse. You can also use large pots for tomatoes if you haven’t got access to a flowerbed! Depending on the variety, you’ll probably need some garden canes & supports to help your tomatoes grow upwards. Keep your tomatoes well-watered and fed with tomato feed once flowers appear, making sure to remove any side shoots so the plant can put all its energy into fruits!
