Unless you want an early crop, you don't need to chit the seed potatoes before planting. Simply store them in a cool, frost-free, and well-ventilated place before planting them in spring. Plant them from March to May in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position or in large containers or grow bags. Your potatoes will be ready to harvest from August to November, about 17-20 weeks after planting. Once harvested, store them in a dark and dry place, preferably in an open tray or crate, and they will keep well through the winter.
