This plant produces masses of vibrant blooms on upright, columnar stems that make this Weigela a striking choice for narrow borders or patio containers. You'll find it's easy to grow and requires minimal maintenance, thriving in sunny or semi-shaded spots while quickly forming a living screen for patios or balconies. Supplied in a handy 9cm pot with full growing and care instructions, it's perfect for anyone looking to add a reliable, compact flowering shrub to their outdoor space. How to grow: Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
