- Deep maroon petals with golden yellow edges create striking contrast
- Triumph group stems provide support for borders and indoor vases
- Offers reliable perennial returns in well-drained soil
Bring a burst of vibrant colour to your spring garden with the captivating maroon and golden-edged blooms of tulip 'Gavota', celebrated for its reliable flowering and strong Triumph stems. Loved for its hardy perennial nature, this variety flourishes in beds, borders and containers, standing tall even in unpredictable weather and making a striking addition to cut flower arrangements. With its RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can trust in the quality and garden value, while the potential for repeat displays makes it a rewarding choice for both novice and seasoned gardeners. Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil and enjoy the show as these bulbs return each year with minimal care. How to Grow: Plant in a sunny, sheltered position in late summer or autumn. Tulips thrive in moist but well-drained soils; avoid planting in wet conditions. Plant the bulbs 15cm deep and 13cm apart to ensure healthy growth and optimal flowering. After flowering, remove faded blooms and allow foliage to die back naturally before cutting it away. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season. Tulip bulbs can be irritants to the skin and eyes and are harmful if consumed. Handle with gloves where necessary and wash your hands after planting. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
