These Tree Lilies are the results of years and years of breeding! They can grow as tall as 2.5m (8ft), produce up to 30 large blooms, and are covered in lush green foliage. Plant them in borders or against walls and fences – their stems are around 5cm thick so don’t require additional support – and just leave them to grow! Comprises of: Tree Lily ‘Yellow Rocket’ – yellow petals with cream edges Tree Lily ‘Starburst’ – golden petals with crimson flushes Tree Lily ‘Pink Explosion’ – pink petals with a delightful fragrance Oriental lilies prefer a moist, free draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2. Lily bulbs should be planted at a depth of approximately 3 times their own height and 15cm (6") apart. Choose a sheltered, sunny position. Feed and water oriental lily bulbs regularly throughout the growing season, keeping them moist at all times. When cutting oriental lily flowers for indoor arrangements, it is important to leave a third of the stem intact in order to feed the bulb. Reduce watering and move containers to a cool, frost free position over winter. A mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost should be applied in spring. Divide and repot container grown lilies into fresh compost every other year.
