Syringa double lilac Madame Lemoine is an elegant, free variety with nectar-rich, fragrant flowers that are loved by butterflies. It has strong spreading branches that hold double white flowers with heart-shaped foliage. A great specimen shrub for a cottage garden that requires little maintenance. Height and Spread: 7m (22 inches). Culinary note: Adding the fragrant flowers to cream cheese or even yoghurt for a hint of lemon flavour. Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems.
