- Mauve-pink flowers in May–June
- Foliage turns plum and burgundy
- Upright, rounded habit for borders
Throughout May and June you will see stunning small mauve-pink flowers blooming on the dark foliage. In Autumn you will see the heart shaped foliage turn to rich shades of plum and burgundy. Perfect for borders with its upright, rounded habit. Grow lilac plants in rich fertile, well-drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Dwarf Lilac plants may be grown in containers if preferred using a loam based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
