Delicate clusters of soft pink tubular flowers smother this deciduous shrub in late spring. The pretty blooms of Thompson and Morgan Syringa subsp. Microphylla Superba have a powerful, sweet perfume that is hard to resist. The compact habit of this striking Lilac makes it incredibly versatile. Plants are ideal for large patio containers and small gardens, or can also be trained into a fragrant, colourful hedge or grown against a wall. Grow Thompson and Morgan lilac plants in rich, fertile, well-drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Dwarf lilac plants may be grown in containers if preferred, using a loam-based compost. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season whole young plants become established. Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems.
