Product Information

  • Hybrid variety offers quicker germination and vigorous plant growth
  • Each plant produces 2-3 cobs with 16-18 rows of kernels
  • Pack contains approximately 30 seeds
Relish the taste of summer with the Thompson & Morgan Sweetcorn Swift F1 Hybrid Seeds. The sweet corn stands out for its superior taste and texture, generating two to three cobs per plant, each featuring 16 to 18 rows of succulent sweet kernels. This hybrid variety germinates quickly and shows greater vigour compared to other sweet corn types, delivering a rich, sweet flavour without the necessity of isolation from different varieties. Seed sowing occurs between April and May, with germination taking place at temperatures of 20 to 30°Celsius on the surface of good, free-draining, damp seed compost in 7.5cm pots. Cover the seeds with 1cm of compost or vermiculite and place them in a propagator or sealed container until germination appears within 6 to 10 days. Transplant seedlings outdoors, ensuring all risk of frost has passed, spacing them 45cm apart in blocks to facilitate pollination. Regular watering is essential once cobs begin to form, and they will be ready for harvest when the kernels yield a thin, creamy liquid. This corn variety thrives in fertile soil located in sunny areas.
