Thompson and Morgan Sunflower Ruby Sunset Seeds

Sunflower ruby sunset seed is stunning and will produce 5-15 medium sized, uniquely coloured blooms per stem if pinched out. Beautiful in the garden or pretty in the home. HA - Hardy annual. Medium/tall variety. Height 1-1.5 metre. Ideal for beds and borders, and as cut flowers. Attractive to butterflies. Prefers full sun. A real favourite with children. Flowers like very large daisies with brightly coloured petals. Use petals and seeds in salads and cakes. Culture: sow under glass March-April and outdoors April-June for flowers July-September. Sowing and growing : sow the seed thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed free soil where the plants are to flower, 13 mm deep, raking in lightly (germination 7-21 days). As the seedlings grow thin in stages to achieve a final spacing of 30-45 cm. Support the plants as they develop. Alternatively sow indoors in April, carefully acclimatising plants to outside conditions and plant out mid-late May. Quality control: this seed has been carefully tested to ensure high germination.
