Product Information

  • Features striking turtle-shell patterned leaves
  • Compact rosette, ideal for small spaces
  • Easy-care houseplant, drought tolerant
Resilient and easy to look after, Streptocarpus 'Pretty Turtle' is a charming little house plant! The fabulous foliage has a curious turtle shell pattern, creating a tessellated design of silvery veining against deep green. The leaves of this handsome plant are fleshy and rounded, arranged in neat rosettes that make this a great choice for small spaces and narrow shelves. This Cape Primrose originates from the rocky landscapes of Africa and Madagascar, so it’s a tough plant that’s easy to care for. Height and spread: 25cm (10”).March to September: Place your Streptocarpus in a bright spot but not in prolonged direct sunlight – an east or west-facing windowsill is perfect. Water regularly as the compost begins to dry out but avoid letting the plant sit in water. Feed fortnightly with a proprietary houseplant feed. As the plant grows, repot as necessary in spring into a slightly larger pot. October to February: Move to a south facing windowsill if possible. Only water when the compost dries out and don’t feed. Remove any dead leaves and debris to minimise the chance of pests and diseases. Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you. Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only. Please note: This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom. Product specifications: Position: Sun or Semi-Shade, Dappled Shade Height: Up to 25cm when fully established Spread: Up to 25cm when fully established Supplied as 1x Streptocarpus 'Pretty Turtle' 13cm potted plant Delivered with growing and care instructions Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
