Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed, and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well-drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun. Feed and water regularly until fully established. Although perennial, this Salvia will require some winter protection in all but the mildest areas.
