  • Grows up to 90cm and spreads up to 40cm
  • Supplied with care instructions for easy home cultivation
Bring a splash of colour and a tangy twist to your garden with the Thompson and Morgan Salad Leaves Sorrel Blood Veined Seeds. It features vibrant green leaves marked by striking crimson veins, creating a stunning visual in borders or herb beds while offering a sharp, refreshing flavour that’s ideal for salads and fish dishes. You’ll find fortnightly sowings keep your kitchen supplied with young leaves, and regular harvesting ensures the best taste, making it both a decorative and delicious choice for patio or kitchen gardens. Direct sow sorrel seed outdoors from March to May. Grow sorrel in a well-prepared, moist, seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of one centimetre in drills 30cm apart. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 15cm apart. Fortnightly sowings of sorrel will ensure an ongoing supply of young sorrel leaves for adding to salads. Water sorrel during dry periods to ensure that the soil remains moist. Sorrel leaves can be harvested six to eight weeks after sowing by selecting a few leaves from each plant. Sorrel is best harvested regularly, and while the leaves are small, as older, larger leaves become increasingly bitter. Remove sorrel flowers regularly to promote ongoing leaf production. Ideal For: Patio, Kitchen Garden, Low Maintenance Garden. Hardiness: Hardy. Position In: Sun or semi-shade. Height: Up to 90cm. Spread: Up to 40cm. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
