Pyrethrum coccineum have a long tradition as florist's flowers, with beautiful, long-lasting blooms on long stems. ‘James Kelway’ is a particularly pretty colour, with crimson-red flowers with yellow centres borne on stiff stems above clumps of ferny foliage. Also known as ‘Painted Daisies’, these brightly coloured perennials will inject your borders with vivid colour in May and June, plus the flowers are highly attractive to pollinators. For maximum impact, Pyrethrum coccineum work well as mass plantings in the front or middle of cottage-style borders.
