- Produces star-shaped blooms in vibrant colours
- Self-cleaning, low-maintenance plant
- Ideal for sun or semi-shade beds
Such a beautiful plant - their intriguing, star-shaped, serrated-edged flowers will continue to provide many stunning colours for the summer months. With their self-cleaning habit & being grown on UK soil, you couldn’t ask for a more hassle-free summer bedding plant. Pot up phlox plants and grow them in frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting them into their final positions. Grow phlox plants in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Feed and water regularly, particularly during dry periods, until young phlox plants are fully established. After flowering, lightly shear the stems to encourage lots of fresh new growth.
