You can now grow your own delicious, sweet red peppers in an unheated greenhouse! The Grafted Sweet Pepper ‘Solario’ F1 is a French hybrid variety specifically developed for cultivation in unheated greenhouses. These grafted plants produce large, thick-walled, dark red fruits that are about 12 cm long, each weighing around 250 g. This early-maturing variety is fertile, compact, and has good disease resistance, making it ideal for patios, kitchen gardens, greenhouses, or conservatories. Plant height reaches about 90 cm (36 inches) with a spread of 45 cm (18 inches). Grafted sweet pepper plants exhibit increased vigour, higher yields, and improved resistance to soil-borne pests and diseases, which is especially beneficial if you are growing peppers in the same ground in your greenhouse. Our grafted peppers may come with a grafting clip; please leave this in place and allow it to drop off naturally as the plant grows. Since plant height and spread can vary with the seasons, we provide information based on pot size rather than a fixed plant size. Therefore, the height and spread of the plants delivered may differ, and the images provided are for reference only. Peppers can be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or outdoors in a sheltered position with full sun exposure. To start, pot up young plants and grow them in warm, frost-free conditions. Once the plants are well-grown, you can transplant them into grow bags, containers, or well-prepared beds of fertile, well-drained soil. If growing sweet peppers outdoors, acclimate them gradually to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days before transplanting. Space the pepper plants 50 cm (20 inches) apart.
