Thompson & Morgan Marigold Single Legion of Honour Seeds

Bring a burst of golden-yellow blooms to your garden with this heirloom French marigold, cherished for over 150 years for its reliable and robust display. You'll love how these bushy mid-height plants quickly fill borders with a profusion of single flowers, each adorned with striking dark brown markings, and keep flowering from June to October with minimal dead-heading. Enjoy their citrus-tasting petals in salads or seafood dishes for a delightful culinary twist, and follow the included growing instructions for a rewarding and pollinator-friendly addition to your outdoor space. How to grow: Sow seeds from March to April on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag and put in a warm place and keep at a temperature of between 21-25C (70-75F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged, germination usually takes 7-21 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3 inch) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12 inch) apart. Product specifications: Position: Full Sun.
