Product Information

  • Evergreen with winter yellow blooms
  • Blue-black berries follow flowers
  • Hardy, neat groundcover shrub
Blooming from November through to March, this winter-flowering variety is evergreen and will provide interest all through the year. Following on from the golden flowers, you will see blue-black berries appear. Neat and compact, this is a perfect groundcover plant. Grow Mahonia plants in any rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full shade. Although Mahonia plants are hardy, they will appreciate a sheltered position away from cold, drying winds. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Mahonia plants require little pruning but may benefit from a trim in spring to remove any damaged or diseased stems and lightly shape the plant. Specifications: Hardy Shrub. Position: borders. Height: Up to 150cm (59 inches) when fully established. Spread: Up to 250cm (98 inches) when fully established. Note:. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
