Honeysuckle is a popular climber, which is loved for its sweetly scented flowers. Honeysuckle Belgica is a vigorous deciduous climber that will cover fences and walls and can also be grown through trees and shrubs. Beautifully sweetly scented, red-flushed white flowers gradually turn yellow with rich red streaks and are followed by inedible red berries. Early Dutch Honeysuckle flowers mainly during early summer but will often produce a follow-up flush of scented blooms in September and October. Height: up to 7m Spread: 1m. Culinary note: the parboiled leaves are used as a vegetable and the flowers can be sucked for their sweet nectar, used as a vegetable or made into a syrup and pudding.
