Thompson and Morgan Lettuce Romaine Cos Little Gem Seeds

Bursting with vibrant green and purple leaves, the Thompson and Morgan Lettuce Romaine Cos Little Gem Seeds offer a reliable harvest of crisp, flavourful foliage from early summer right through to autumn, making salads pop with both taste and colour. Compact upright plants resist bolting, so you'll enjoy fresher leaves for longer, whether they're grown in vegetable beds or containers. Regular sowings ensure a steady supply, and their easy care means anyone can savour homegrown lettuce with minimal fuss. Sow lettuce seeds directly outdoors from March to August into fertile, moist, well-prepared soil in full sun or partial shade. Sow thinly at a depth of approximately one centimetre in rows 30cm apart, then thin seedlings once established to allow plants enough space to develop. Protect young plants with netting or fleece to help prevent damage from birds and insects. For the best results, water frequently and keep the area around plants free from weeds. Consistent moisture is especially important during dry weather and in the weeks before harvesting, as this helps prevent bolting. Applying a mulch around plants can also help retain moisture and support healthy growth. Make regular sowings for a steady supply of fresh leaves, and harvest when required by lifting the whole plant and trimming the stem before use. Position: Full sun, sun or semi-shade. Height: Up to 20cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 20cm when fully established.
