- Tall spires produce semi-double scarlet blooms
- Strong stems make flowers ideal for cutting and arranging
- Summer to autumn flowering extends interest
Bring a bold cottage-garden charm to your borders with tall spires of rich scarlet blooms that last from summer into autumn. Delphinium consolida 'King Size Scarlet' delights with semi-double flowers and finely divided foliage, making it a standout for garden displays and a favourite for cut flower arrangements. Regular deadheading encourages even more vibrant side shoots, while dried flower sprays are perfect for natural confetti at celebrations. Easy to grow in sunny spots with moist well-drained soil, these hardy annual plugs promise lasting colour and nostalgic beauty for gardens. How to Grow: Plant in a sunny spot with moist, well-drained soil. Protect young plants from slugs and snails to ensure healthy growth. Feed and water regularly until established. Cut back faded flower spikes to a side shoot to encourage more blooms. In autumn, cut old foliage back to ground level. Caution: This plant can irritate skin and eyes and is harmful if ingested, so handle with care. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
