Product Information

  • Blooms emerge pure white and change to pink
  • Easy to grow and perfect for problematic north-facing areas
  • Highly attractive to pollinators
From trials, totalling 10,000 plants, this special Hydrangea was selected for its stunning appearance with a garden performance to match! Its blooms emerge pure white then mature through the season to a delicious raspberry pink. Thompson and Morgan Hydrangea Paniculata ‘Vanille Fraise’ is easy to grow and perfect for those problematic north-facing areas, due to its extreme hardiness, down to 20°C. Thompson and Morgan Hydrangea Paniculata ‘Vanille Fraise’ prefers a sunny or semi-shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non-alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave faded Hydrangea flower heads in place until new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. If necessary, Thompson and Morgan Hydrangea Paniculata will tolerate hard pruning of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced. After pruning Hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: All parts of Hydrangea will upset the stomach if eaten. The foliage may also aggravate skin allergies. Ideal For: Cut Flower Gardens, Specimen Plant, Woodland Gardens Hardiness: Hardy Position In: Sun or Semi Shade, Dappled Shade Height: Up to 180cm 70.9in Spread: Up to 180cm 70.9in Ease of Growing: Easy for All Ease of Aftercare: Easy for All.
