Product Information

  • Huge blooms shift from green to soft pink
  • Eye-catching late summer colour display
  • Ideal for borders, cut flowers, or specimens
Huge, conical blooms open in a soft shade of pea green, and then gradually mature through shades of cream to a delicate soft pink. Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' is quite a spectacle, particularly when flowers are at different stages of colour and maturity, giving a three toned effect. The magnificent blooms make elegant cut flowers and provide exceptional late summer colour in woodland gardens and mixed borders. A wonderful specimen shrub for a prime position. Grow in a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds, in any non-alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Water regularly until fully established. Leave the faded flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. If necessary it will tolerate hard pruning of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced. After pruning apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten. Position: Sun or Partial Shade Height: Up to 2.5mSpread: Up to 2.5mSupplied in a 3.6 Litre Nursery Pot Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes and may not be the exact variety.
