- Grows up to 60cm tall
Add a burst of pink and green to your garden and kitchen with the Thompson and Morgan Herb Salad Burnet Seeds, a hardy perennial that brings unique flavour to drinks and salads while thriving in full sun or partial shade. You'll enjoy coral-like spikes from May to August, making each harvest a colourful experience and ensuring fresh leaves for months, especially with regular sowing. As a reliable addition to any herb patch, salad burnet is easy to grow, requiring only moist soil and a little care, and rewards you with young, tasty leaves perfect for culinary adventures. Direct sow Salad Burnet seed outdoors from March to May. Grow Salad Burnet in a well-prepared, moist, seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of one centimetre in drills 30cm apart. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 23cm apart. Fortnightly sowings will ensure an ongoing supply of young Burnet leaves for adding to salads. Water the salad burnet during dry periods to ensure that the soil remains moist. Burnet leaves can be harvested six to eight weeks after sowing, by selecting a few leaves from each plant. Salad Burnet is best harvested regularly, and while the leaves are small, as older, larger leaves become increasingly bitter. Product Specifications: Position: Full sun. Height: Up to 60cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 40cm when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
