Product Information

  • Classic Flanders Poppy variety
  • Symbolic remembrance flower
  • Ideal for borders, beds, pots, and wildflower gardens

Create a stunning display of vibrant red blooms with Field Poppy Seeds, also known as the iconic Flanders Poppy. Renowned as a symbol of remembrance, these beautiful wildflowers bring colour, movement, and natural charm to borders, wildlife gardens, meadow planting schemes, and patio containers. Producing masses of delicate scarlet-red flowers from early summer through to late summer, Field Poppies are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, helping to support local wildlife while enhancing your outdoor space. Their natural, cottage-garden appearance makes them ideal for creating informal planting displays and wildflower-inspired landscapes. Easy to grow and maintain, these hardy plants can be sown directly outdoors and thrive in a wide range of garden soils. Suitable for borders, beds, pots, and wildflower areas, they perform best in a sunny position where they will flower freely throughout the season. In addition to their ornamental value, poppy seeds can also be harvested and used in baking, making them a versatile addition to the garden. Growing information: Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to May into finely prepared, moist, weed-free soil. Cover lightly with approximately 3mm of soil. Germination typically occurs within 10–14 days. As seedlings establish, thin plants gradually to a final spacing of 15cm to allow healthy growth and flowering. Remove faded blooms regularly to encourage continued flowering throughout the season. Pollinator Friendly: Field Poppies are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, making them an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens and pollinator planting schemes. Flowering Period: June to August. Height: 30-60cm (1-2ft). Hardiness: Hardy Annual / Hardy Perennial.
