This dwarf fern thrives in low light levels and is hardy enough for most UK gardens as it tolerates temperatures down to -5C (23F), although it does benefit from a sheltered spot with some winter protection. Blechnum brasiliensis should be grown in a moist, acidic soil that is also humus-rich. These ferns are hardy enough for the majority of UK gardens, withstanding temperatures down to -5C (23F). Fronds should be misted regularly to ensure high humidity is maintained; they may scorch in a dry atmosphere.
