As the canes mature, consider removing some of the lower leaves to showcase the attractive stems. This plant is ideal for adding structure and movement to your garden, whether in pots, beds, or borders. It works well against walls and fences, where it can create a full screen. When growing Umbrella Bamboo in pots, use soil-based compost and repot the plant into a new container. Water it well and place it in full sun or partial shade.
