Wallflower ‘Artist Paintbox’ produces glorious burnt orange and mauve shades of flowers. This Hardy Perennial is evergreen and is a compact habit, perfect for displaying in patio containers, beds or borders. Continuing with more blooms throughout April through to July, Erysimum last up to 10 days when cut for a vase, providing a gentle scent into your kitchen. Height and spread: 30cm (11.8in).Culinary note: The tender young shoots can be cooked and eaten as a vegetable. Pot up wallflower plants using free draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting outdoors on free draining soil in full sun. Erysimum plants are tolerant of most neutral or alkaline soils and will even cope well on very poor soils. Feed and water plants until they are fully established.
