- Stunning blooms from July to September
- Perfect for cut flower displays within the home
- Great for attracting bees and butterflies
The striking petals of Echinacea flowers radiate outward from a deep-brown central cone, producing stunning blooms from July to September. These tall-stemmed flowers are perfect for cut flower displays in the home. Additionally, they are great for attracting bees and butterflies, making them ideal for cottage and wildlife gardens. To cultivate Echinacea, start by potting the plants and growing them in frost-free conditions until they are large enough to transplant outdoors. Gradually acclimatize the plants to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days before planting them in garden borders. Echinacea thrives in sunny or semi-shaded areas with moist, well-drained soil. They prefer deep, fertile soil, so consider adding well-rotted manure or garden compost to enhance the soil before planting. During the growing season, it’s essential to feed and water the plants regularly until they are fully established. To encourage more blooms, deadhead any faded Echinacea flowers. In autumn, cut back the faded flower stems and apply a layer of well-rotted manure as mulch around the base of the plant. If you notice overcrowding, divide the plants in either autumn or spring. Please note that the images provided are for guidance on the expected results when the plants mature. Actual results may vary based on different growing conditions. Images may also reflect seasonal variations, as deciduous plants lose their leaves during colder months.
