Delphinium ‘Summer Skies’ is an excellent choice for your cottage gardens, due to the colour and height these stunning hardy perennials bring! You can expect mesmerising towering spikes of sky-blue blooms to gracefully appear around sturdy green stems from June through to sunny July, where you can sit back and enjoy the displays. This gorgeous delphinium Is rich in nectar, meaning it is loved by pollinating insects – Ideal for wildlife areas. This show stopper also has the added bonus of being used for cut flower displays. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well-drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails. Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. Delphinium ‘Magic Fountains’ is a compact variety which should not require staking except on very windy sites. Deadhead faded delphinium flowers to encourage a second flush to be produced. Caution: All parts of delphinium are harmful if eaten and contact with the foliage may irritate the skin and eyes.
