Embark on your gardening adventure now with the Thompson and Morgan Cucumber Goblin F1 Gherkin Seeds. Cucumber seeds should be sown from early March to April for indoor cultivation, and can be transplanted outdoors later. Direct sowing for outdoor varieties is possible between May and early June. When planting cucumber seeds, they should be sown on their sides at a depth of 1cm in 7.5cm pots filled with free-draining seed-sowing compost. Maintaining a temperature of 20 °C until germination, usually taking 7 to 10 days, will help ensure success. Once seedlings emerge, it is important to protect them from direct sunlight to prevent scorching. Allow the cucumber plants to grow until they are ready for transplanting and ensure a minimum temperature of 15°C while keeping the compost moist but not overly wet. For greenhouse varieties, training the main shoots onto supports will enhance yields. Pinching out the main stems after seven leaves have developed for outdoor ridge types encourages the growth of sideshoots, while these plants require pollination by insects, so male flowers should not be removed. The product specifications include a height of up to 300cm and a spread of up to 45cm when fully established, supplied as one packet containing six cucumber seeds. Images provided are illustrative and may differ due to seasonal changes. The pack contains approximately 6 seeds.
