After more has 18 years of conventional breeding against this devastating brassica disease, T&M offers four of the most clubroot resistant varieties ever grown in trials. Postiplugs are versatile, superb value and can be planted straight into baskets and other containers. These plants will produce heavy crops of delicious vegetables from July to October. Collection comprises 4 x postiplug plants (1 of each variety): Brussels Sprout ‘Crispus, Cauliflower ‘Clapton’, Broccoli ‘Monclano’, Cabbage Savoy ‘Cordesa’. Grow brassica plants in firm, rich fertile, well-drained soil in sun or semi shade. A site that has previously cultivated beans or peas is ideal. Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well-rotted farmyard manure to the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Apply lime to acid soils to reduce the acidity and lessen the risk of clubroot. Plant brassicas at a distance of 60cm (24”) apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water the plants thoroughly after planting.
