Product Information

  • Pack contains 45 seeds
  • Trio of purple, yellow, and green beans offers variety
  • Suitable for freezing after harvest for year round use
Enjoy a vibrant harvest with Thompson and Morgan Climbing French Bean Mixed Colour Seeds. The packet features a delightful mix of purple, yellow and green climbing French beans that bring colour and variety to your garden and plate! You'll find each pod tender and tasty, thanks to a blend of top varieties bred for quality and high yields. Perfect for sowing indoors or outdoors, these beans thrive in full sun or semi shade and are suitable for freezing so you can enjoy them all year round. Sow climbing bean seeds indoors from mid-April for transplanting from late May, or direct sow outdoors from late May to July. Indoors, sow bean seeds at a depth of four centimetres in 7.5cm pots or trays of free-draining, seed sowing compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a plastic bag at a temperature of 12-25°C (54-77F) until germination, which takes seven to ten days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Once germinated, grow on in cooler conditions until all risk of frost has passed and the climbing bean plants are large enough to be transplanted. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days before planting French beans outdoors in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun with protection from strong winds. Culinary note: Suitable for freezing. Caution: Cook climbing beans before eating to avoid discomfort. Product Specifications: Position: Full sun, sun or semi shade. Height: Up to 180cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 30cm when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Images may be included to illustrate supply, but can vary due to seasonal changes (e.g., deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
